Switch On! teams composers from the University of Chicago with [Switch~] Ensemble, one of the country’s most sought-after contemporary music groups devoted to the performance of electroacoustic and multimedia works. With world class players and sound engineers, [Switch~] Ensemble’s productions are invariable displays of both instrumental and technological virtuosity. At the culmination of year-long composer-performer collaborations and a week’s residency at the University of Chicago, Mana Contemporary Chicago and Elastic Arts will host two concerts to showcase seven premieres that were specifically written for [Switch~], along with other works from the ensemble’s repertoire.
