Culture of Care with Jamila Keulah Kinney Pt. 1
@ Threewalls
Online
Opening Wednesday, March 12th, from 6PM - 7PM
Active into passive
Awakening presence is a guided somatic practice rooted in mindfulness and energetic traditions. In this practice guidance is offered to experience the “here & now” through breath awareness, movement and guided self-touch. Through this practice we meet our body-mind to arrive more fully toward ourselves. The purpose of meeting ourselves- meeting our body-mind and sustaining a relationship of loving-kindness and direct care toward ourselves is the opposite of what the system of white supremacy delusion would want for you. Tending to the socio-emotional aspects of our own being offer us the capacity to be in connection with each other and the ability to respond from a grounded place. This is a practice to support your body as a resource.
Jamila Kekulah Kinney
Jamila Kekulah Kinney (they) are ever evolving in this space time continuum. Jamila is the creator of The Moving Soul, a holistic somatic movement practice that bridges the gap between soma, psyche and soul. They cultivate practices of awareness, sensing and feeling the potency of the bodymind connection.
As a movement artist, Jamila creates performances rooted in spirit, exploring the inner landscape of self, others, and nature. They are currently a CO-MISSION artist in residence at Linkshall. It is their mission to guide folks into relationship with themselves and to be at home in their body. They envisions a world where folks live, love, and relate with each other from an embodied and mindful place.

ABOUT CULTURE OF CARE
Culture of Care returns in 2025 for another season of workshops and space for exchange during which we come together to share, rest, and reflect on what it means to shape a culture that embraces our humanity.
During Culture of Care, folks are invited to participate in and/or witness the practices of local creatives who will share skills, hold space for reflection, and offer healing. In the sessions we will individually develop our personal definitions of self-care and what it looks like within our communities.
