@ Lillstreet Art Center
4401 N Ravenswood Ave, Chicago, IL 60640
Opening Saturday, April 5th, from 5PM - 8PM
On view through Thursday, May 15th
Amanda Mulcahy is a Chicago-based multidisciplinary artist and educator. Her work draws from the concepts of ecological succession, where biological forms and geological structures engage with one another in dynamic relationships. Her work distills interactions and she playfully translates them into colorful abstractions in painting, collage, and fiber art. She is a former Lillstreet Art Center Artist-in-Residence (2015). She continues teaching at Lillstreet today, along with the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and Chicago Arts Partnerships in Education.
Nikki Renee Anderson creates sculptures and installations that use her personal history to explore the feminine and the different roles of the self. Anderson has exhibited extensively including the Chicago Cultural Center, Hyde Park Art Center, The Gaylord and Dorothy Donnelly Foundation, Glass Curtain Gallery and The Grounds For Sculpture.
