Sunlight, Snow, and Wind
@ International Society for performing & visual arts
2233 S Throop St, Chicago, IL 60608
Opening Friday, March 7th, from 6PM - 9PM
On view through Friday, March 21st
Uoo Art and the International Society for Performing and Visual Arts proudly present Sunlight, Snow, and Wind, a hybrid on-site and online group exhibition that explores the profound relationship between nature, climate, and society. This exhibition brings together a diverse group of artists whose works challenge perspectives, inspire thought, and provoke dialogue, offering a dynamic exploration of the elemental forces that shape both our environment and social structures.
Through the interplay of sunlight, snow, and wind, the selected works capture the fleeting beauty and harsh realities of our climate. However, their impact extends beyond meteorological phenomena—these pieces serve as lenses through which broader political, cultural, and social currents are examined. Whether evoking the transient chill of Chicago’s winter, the quiet serenity of snowfall, or the radiant energy of the sun, each work transcends its immediate subject matter, fostering a discourse on the deeper, often unseen forces that influence our world.
Curated by Leo (Yiwei) Wang, Sunlight, Snow, and Wind features a distinguished jury panel composed of Landis Blair, Muchen Wang, Leo Fletcher, Leo (Yiwei) Wang, and Lin Bader. Their collective expertise has guided the selection of outstanding works and recognized artists for their exceptional contributions to the exhibition’s theme.
