Juan Angel Chávez is a Mexican artist/skateboarder born in Chihuahua México, who now lives and works in Chicago. His most current projects include Marshfield Courts: A community project taking over an abandoned basketball court to build a neighborhood skatepark in Mckinley Park. Building With Fire: A series of works exploring Shou Sugi Ban, (Japanese burning technique for wood preservation) to deepen the concept of material essence and object significance.
