Threads of Echoes
@ The Plan
610 N Albany Ave, Chicago, IL 60612
Opening Friday, November 10th, from 6PM - 10PM
On view through Sunday, December 10th
Evocation is to recall what was known and familiar. “Threads of Echoes” is a recollection of the everyday objects, places, and relationships that we once gave meaning to. With the fluctuations of memory and loss of sensation over time, we turn to repurpose our old associations through a motif of fiber and textile. By ways of our different mediums: the weaving of fibers, print media, and photographic processes, we make work for the consolation found in creating new life and new meaning for our materials that belong in both tangible and intangible realities. This repurposing of memory is a cycle that repeats
time and time again – never truly concluding. And this act of evoking is what makes our experiences truly human.
