Artist Talk & Vintage Lens Discussion with Mark de Paola & Tamarkin Camera
@ Tamarkin Camera
Online
Opening Thursday, March 16th, from 7PM - 8:30PM
On Thursday, March 16th at 7 p.m. Central (8 p.m. Eastern Time) join photographer and director Mark de Paola and Dan Tamarkin of Tamarkin Camera for an online Zoom discussion of some of Leica’s most unique vintage lenses juxtaposed with their more modern counterparts. Mark’s work in the fashion and beauty sectors has been defined by Leica glass for decades shooting entirely wide open without any post editing. His experience has led him to shoot every Leica lens that has been released throughout history.
This lecture will be a deep dive into his favorite 35, 50, and 75mm prime lenses highlighting the similarities and differences between some of their original and more modern designs including the 50mm Noctilux, the 35mm Summicron, and the 75mm Summilux. Sharing real side-by-side examples of some of these iconic designs alongside Dan’s encyclopedic knowledge with Tamarkin Camera and Mark’s practical application throughout his career, are sure to inspire you to find your favorite vintage glass unique to your personal vision!
Hosted by Leica Camera USA’s John Kreidler and Matt Butzow along with Tamarkin Camera.
We welcome you, your questions, and your Leica lens curiosity!
