Affordable Housing Workshop for Chicago Artists
@ Green Line Performing Arts Center
329 E Garfield Blvd, Chicago, IL 60637
Opening Monday, October 21st, from 6:30PM - 8:30PM
As part of an initiative to bring programming to new communities, The Actors Fund is excited to present their Affordable Housing Workshop for artists in Chicago. This informative workshop will help participants to better understand what affordable housing is, how it works and aims to support individuals to get organized and prepared to search and apply.
Information regarding income eligibility, tenant selection criteria and documentation is discussed to address the specific needs of people in the performing arts, entertainment and creative community. Since many artists have income that is episodic, fluctuating and from several different sources, the seminar explores different methods for calculating and verifying annual household income.
The workshop will also provide historical context, an overview of affordable housing programs, information on the Chicago Housing Plan, and highlight current opportunities.
This event is free and open to the public.
