The 50th Annual International Visual Literacy Association Conference will take place in Chicago, Illinois at National Louis University November 1-4, 2018.
The conference theme is Viewing the Past, Picturing the Present, Designing the Future. The conference will bring international scholars and researchers, teachers and students, artists, scientists and other professionals to Chicago to participate in an exciting exchange of ideas about visual literacy, how it has developed over the years, and to speculate on its future. This theme will be explored through presentations, including PechaKucha, workshops, and other experiences.
Chicago is an ideal location for the 2018 50th International Visual Literacy Conference as the windy city is easily accessible from anywhere around the globe. Participants can reach the city easily thanks to its two international airports and transportation within the city is fluid.
Chicago is a visual hub thanks to the Chicago Art Institute, the Field Museum, the Museum of Science and Industry and many other visual treasures.
The conference is hosted by National Louis University which is located across the street from the Art Institute of Chicago and Millennium Park.
