Summer Cookout
@ Smart Museum of Art
5550 S. Greenwood Avenue
Opening Thursday, June 30th, from 5PM - 7:30PM
On view through Wednesday, December 31st
Our permanent collection galleries get a fresh look every year. We’re unveiling the latest changes over the summer with a series of celebratory cookouts in the sculpture garden featuring food, drink, performances, and conversations about art and belonging.
On June 30, join us for the debut of our new-look contemporary gallery. The evening features an in-gallery musical performance by composer and flutist Janice Misurell-Mitchell, joined by Ann Ward (voice) and Edward Wilkerson Jr and Mwata Bowden (winds), inspired by Antony Gormley’s sculpture Infinite Cube. Plus, Prints and Privacy opens with a gallery talk by one of the exhibition’s student curators.
Free, but let us know if you plan to come. RSVP to SmartRSVP@uchicago.edu or join in on Facebook.
Rain or shine.
Continue the celebration all summer long—additional Summer Cookouts take place on July 14 and August
