Lauren Wild Songbird Bost is presenting a new body of work entitled “I Believe in Nothing, Everything is Sacred,” a series of gelatin silver print collages based on the tradition of Mandalas – sacred circles created and used for meditation in many ancient Eastern religions. Songbird has drawn forms and shapes directly from Nature and mirrored them back on themselves to create these layered and dynamic “windows” that draw your eye to the center and create the sense of circular motion. Each circle becomes a system unto itself, calling on the light and dark of each different element to come together and contribute to the whole.
